Bringing Ultrafast Broadband to Ufford

Gigaclear will be demonstrating the new ultra fast pure fibre broadband service available to residents in Ufford and the surrounding areas. The company has recently completed the delivery of a new fibre to the premises broadband service for almost 1,500 properties across the villages of Ashton, Bainton, Barnack, Helpston, Marholme, Pilsgate, Tallington and Ufford, near Peterborough.

Meeting in Village Hall

Working with Peterborough City Council, Gigaclear has implemented broadband coverage that delivers the most advanced and future proofed technology in the country, meaning these eight communities will not need a communications infrastructure upgrade again for many decades.

The event is open to all local residents and business owners, who will be able to test out the ultrafast service, which delivers speeds of up to 1000Mbps for uploads and downloads. The new technology is set to transform the work, play, entertainment and communications experience for Gigaclear customers in the region.

GIGACLEAR's Ultrafast Broadband is on its way!

Work on digging channels for Gigaclear’s Ultrafast Broadband to the villages started on March 10th.

On March 23rd teams had reached the Sutton Heath Road and they are expected to be in Southorpe by the beginning of April.

Why you should sign up to Gigaclear... now!

Dear Villagers,
As one of the local people who have volunteered to promote the Gigaclear project in the interests of our communities since they began their presentations in our village halls in July, I would be grateful for the opportunity to explain why this opportunity should not be ignored. If the Gigaclear project does not go ahead, then the nine villages will miss out on a fantastic opportunity which may not come again. .

Why is Ultra-fast Broadband important?

Because in the future, maybe as little as 5 years, so much material will be moving about on the Internet that the old copper-limited infrastructure (which BT will continue to rely on until their last, sclerotic gasp) will not be able to handle it. For example, the BBC is planning to move BBC3 to Iplayer only (small loss, you may think) but they will not rule out the same thing happening to BBC4 (of which I happen to watch a lot). It’s the thin end of a wedge, in my opinion.
