Ufford Parish Council

Police and Crime Update – We will no longer be receiving a monthly report, but Cambs Constabulary are urging residents sign up to Ecops for regular updates at  You can also obtain information about crime in your area via

Recent Planning Applications: 

18/00570/HHFUL, Hightrees, 2 Walcot Road –Conversion of garage, proposed single storey front porch extension; two storey side extension; single storey rear extension and internal alterations and proposed detached double garage with gym. Permitted with conditions.

18/00957/HHFUL, Honeysuckle Cottage, Main Street -Single storey rear extension, conversion of existing garage and creation of new garage with new vehicular access. Awaiting Decision.

18/00585/HHFUL, 3 Hillside Close – Two storey side and rear extension and open porch to front elevation. No objections.

18/01176/CTR, Ufford Hall, Main Street – Tree works. No objections.

Other Items 

Councillor Training – UPC will investigate in-house training with the intention of opening sessions to local Parish Councils.

Ufford Heritage Publication – Several residents have offered to join the working group to help update the publication. A meeting will be set up in September to discuss the project.  If you would like to get involved, please get in touch with the clerk.

Defibrillator – The defibrillator is now ‘live’ and set-up with the local ambulance trust.  Details of training sessions to follow.

Traffic Calming & Parking Congestion – UPC will be meeting with Highways next week to discuss options.

Gigaclear – UPC are chasing a site visit from Gigaclear’s Mike Quinn. (Cont overleaf)

There is no Parish Council meeting in August.  The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 11th September at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.  All residents are welcome. 

Barnack Parish Council

Outstanding Items

Post Box –Royal Mail have raised an order for the post box to be installed within the next 6-8 weeks.  It will be located near the rear church gates.

Telephone Kiosk – BT are removing the payphones from both kiosks on 10th July.  The Barnack box will be relocated to the old bus stop opposite the Methodist Chapel.


18/00377/REM, Land to the West of Uffington Road, Reserved matters approval for 80 dwellings. Members of the PC and residents attended the Planning Committee Meeting which approved Linden Homes’ plans with conditions.  BPC will arrange to meet Michael Britton, PCC’s play specialist to discuss the plan, layout and equipment of the young children’s play area.

18/00861/FUL & 18/00862/LBC, Greystones, School Road, Proposed Barn Conversion and Extension. Awaiting Decision.

18/00972/CTR, 9 Bishops Walk, Tree Works. No objections.

18/00872/LBC& 18/01028/HHFUL, 27 School Road, Demolition of shed and construction of replacement shed. No objections.

18/01039/CTR, 2 Bishops Walk, Tree Works. No objections.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Preliminary Draft Local Plan Consultation May 2018, Minerals and Waste Local Plan Consultation Response – Comments were agreed and submitted.

Other Items

Traffic Calming – BPC approved a quote from Skanska to install the village gateways. 

Police – There will no longer be a rural crime update report each month.  Cambs Constabulary advise residents to sign up to Ecops via more timely reports.  More information and stats about crime in your area can be found via https//

Cemetery – Revised Terms and Conditions were adopted and can be found on the website and cemetery notice board.  The clerk will contact families where plots have become increasingly difficult for mowing due to items causing an obstruction.

Neighbourhood Plan – Margaret Palmer updated members on the recent Neighbourhood Plan working group meeting.  Interested parties agreed to join a working group and the Parish Council voted in favour of pursuing a Neighbourhood Plan for Barnack and Pilsgate.

Barnack Community Association - Sally Hullock and Andy Cavaciuti updated BPC on the BCA’s plans and talked about their current improvement projects including the new shed at the Village Hall.
