Barnack Parish Council

Barnack Community Association were invited to present a summary on a project covering  short & long-term maintenance costs and aligning hall hire fees, along with exciting plans for events and fundraising. 

Sereena Davey also presented to BPC advising what changes had been made to the format of this year’s Fun Run on 27th April.  If you are able to help with the organisation of the event, volunteering on the day or can track down a raffle prize or two, please contact the Clerk (contact details above).

Other items discussed included:

Bus shelters – the wooden shelters are due to be installed on their new foundations shortly.

Telephone kiosks – the Barnack kiosk has been removed from outside the former shop, ready for refurbishment prior to being moved to a new location on Main Street.  The Pilsgate kiosk will also be refurbished in due course.

Traffic Calming – Skanska have confirmed they will install the village gateways soon.  BPC are chasing for a definitive date.

Neighbourhood Plan – All residents should have received a questionnaire with the last issue of Parish News.  Please take a few minutes to complete the form and post it through the village hall postbox.  If you require more information, please get in touch with the Clerk.

Planning Applications:

18/00377/REM, Linden Homes Housing Development – the six-week road closure is due to come to an end next week. A LEAP has been designed by Linden Homes and will be submitted to PCC for approval.  The boundary fencing and trellis design has been agreed between residents of Paynes Field, Bainton Road and Linden Homes.

18/01908/HHFUL, The Barton, Pudding Bag Lane, Pilsgate – Proposed single storey front extension, single storey extension to the eastern elevation of the main house, enlargement of garage and new gate. Permitted.

Peterborough Local Plan Examination – BPC will ensure that PCC has the correct designation of protected green space.

Residents are invited to attend the next Parish Council meeting on Monday 11th March at 7.00pm in the Village Hall.

Ufford Parish Council

UPC were delighted to welcome two new members – Paul Wilde and Margaret Sargent – co-opted at the meeting. 

Items discussed included the latest planning applications (see below), the resurrection of a Community Speedwatch group for Ufford and Barnack (see note in this edition of the Parish News), the revised edition of the Ufford Heritage publication and outstanding maintenance.  PCC Highways have issued a consultation to enforce a new 40mph speed restriction on Walcot Road coming into the village from the railway bridge – this is due to safety concerns for children crossing the road for the school bus.  Currently cars are overtaking the parked bus at high speed on their way into the village.

A new mast located close to the Post Box on Walcot Road has been installed by BT Openreach for use by the emergency services.

Planning

18/01873/HHFUL, 2 Meadow View, Newport Way, Two storey and single storey front extensions with first floor balcony. Permitted.

18/02056/HHFUL, 3 Hillside Close – Two storey side and rear extensions, single storey side extension and open porch to front elevation – revised (part retrospective). Permitted.

19/00043/LBC, Old Rectory, Main Street – Heighten an existing stone wall on the front boundary of property by 1.5m. Comments were agreed for submission.

19/00099/CTR, Robins Acre, Walcot Road – Fell Mountain Ash to be planted on the opposite side of the gate adjacent to the wall. No objections.

18/02169/HHFUL, 5 Hillside Close – Erection of two storey annex. Comments were agreed for submission.
