THE FLOWERS OF SPRING

Bainton ChurchyardSt. Mary’s churchyard in the Spring,
Full of flowers and birds that sing.
Gladdens hearts and brings out smiles,
Visitors come from miles and miles,

A colourful carpet to behold,
Yellows, purple and bright gold.
There are soft pinks, and gentle blues,
Natures palate, paints joyful news.

Tiny primrose bloom, midst the green,
Forget-me-nots complete the scene.
The gravestones seem to come alive,
Fond memories of folk survive.

Time to reflect and time to rejoice,
Slow down our lives, make a choice,
Family and friends, let the children sing,
Praise St. Mary and the flowers of Spring.
