BPC would like to thank resident Donna Sackree for organising another successful littler pick. A big thank you to those of you who took part in helping to keep the village clean and litter free.
The Party at the Pavilion & The Villages’ Horticultural Show is being held on Saturday 27th June, 12pm-5pm. Lots of summer fun to be had.
BPC has formalised the setting up of the ‘Street Scene’ Working Group. The group will be run by volunteers who will help with the general maintenance of the village to keep it looking nice and tidy. For example, bulb planting, wall clearing and other tasks. If this would be of any interest to you, please contact the Clerk.
BPC has identified several tasks that could be undertaken for Duke of Edinburgh Award. These include street sign refurbishment, road sign cleaning, foot way overgrowth removal and similar tasks that would enhance the village. For further details please contact the Clerk.
A polite notice, please clean up after your dog and if a dog waste bin is full, please dispose of the waste appropriately.
Antisocial behaviour – please continue to report all crimes no matter how big or small via the neighbourhood policing online reporting portal, unless it’s urgent then by telephoning 999. The portal can be found via the following– https://www.peterboroughpolice.com/en/report/report.aspx
CIL money – Community Infrastructure Levy. Ideas are most welcome on how this money could be spent to support development in the village. Please email the Clerk any ideas you have. A few ideas have already been presented. All ideas are welcome and will be considered.
Please keep an eye on the noticeboards and the community Facebook page for the clubs which take place in the village hall and any upcoming events in the village.

Current planning appeal applications – The Orchard and The Vineyard, Uffington Road, Barnack. Dismissed by the Planning Inspectorate.
Highways
Highway safety remains a key priority. BPC are currently working on speedwatch and traffic calming measures within the village. If you would like to help combat speeding in the village, help with road safety measures and feel you could contribute, please do contact the Clerk.

Diary Dates –
Kevin Tighe– June/July – Kevin plans to be out visiting houses in the village. You are encouraged to chat to him and share any concerns.
Police Ward Surgery – 30th July, 7.30-8.30pm at the Village Hall. All very welcome to attend.
It’s really important that we all keep our local planning authority and local police officers fully informed of any incidents.
Please play your own part rather than assume ‘someone else will have done it’.

• BPC calls for new Councillors
There are currently two Parish Councillor vacancies. If you live in either Barnack or Pilsgate and being a Councillor is of interest to you, please do contact the Clerk.
Whatever your skills, there’s a role for you..
Please note, if too few councillors exist for the Parish Council to be quorate to hold meetings and make important decisions, Peterborough City Council may intervene, potentially leading to the Parish Council being managed by them.

• A reminder that currently Parish Council meetings are held at 7pm on the 2nd Monday of every month in the Village Hall, unless otherwise stated. Please note, there is no Parish Council meeting in August. After the September meeting, future meetings will take place every other month. Members of the public are very welcome to attend. If you do wish to attend and discuss an item on the agenda or would like an item adding for discussion, please notify the Clerk in advance.
• A polite reminder that the Clerk role is part-time, therefore emails aren’t monitored continuously. Some matters need referral to Councillors or inclusion on a meeting agenda so there might not be a response immediately. More often than not, issues need reporting to another body rather than the Parish Council.
