SHOULD THE PARISH NEWS CONTINUE?
The Parish News team is a very small, not-for-profit group of volunteers that bring you this magazine every month; delivered to your door by a huge number of delivery volunteers across the Parish.
The cost of printing relies SOLELY ON PERSONAL DONATIONS AND ADVERTISING.
Although initially produced as a “church magazine” back in 1980, it is now considered a magazine for everyone. Its purpose being to share local news, as well as interesting & fun articles about people and events across our villages. It is also a helpful reference for key community dates, events and finding local services through business adverts.
We already know that, for some, the Parish News is a valuable means of staying in touch with community activity, particularly for those who are not online. However, with donations dropping off significantly in the last few years, we need to evaluate the cost-benefit moving forward.
